After re-establishing our camp (packed up last night prior to the change of mind), a quiet day in planned for today. A few hours working for CASA is on my agenda. Maz is struggling with the Dale Brown book, too military technical oriented. Hopefully can find something else around here.
Rang Sunbuster and sorted the sun/privacy shade. It’s in the mail to here the Daintree Riverview. Have also ordered a basic (portable tripod mounted dish) satellite TV system from Aardvark/ Vansat in Mackay. It will be delivered by courier to CASA Cairns Airport courtesy of Owen Richards (as Daintree delivery is to say the least – flexible) so we will need to pick it up next Tuesday when we leave. I guess that sets our direction initially – south. And we don’t need to go all the way south via Mackay…
Went for another cruise on the river with a different guide/driver, Lex who has lived here all his life – so he knows his stuff. He speaks FNQ, which made it really hard for the Dutch and Germans to understand… Our new neighbors Aryen and Ilona needed a translation later. Lovely couple. We will keep in touch.
We have also booked for a trip in the Argo 8x8 ATV - up the river on and around the property of the park owner/mangers Sally and Peter Maher.
Adjourned home for tacos, another Maz victory. And after filling in the Census form, had an early night.
