Set out from Burnett Heads at a leisurely hour (after my hard day's work yesterday) and after getting back through Bundaberg we stopped at the Bert Hinkler 'museum (aviation pioneer) spent an interesting hour or so including looking through his house – which was brought from England and re-built there, brick by brick, in 1983.
Diverted through Tannum Sands and Gladstone… and are now stopped at Keppel sands, on the coast about 35 km NE of Rockhampton. So we are officially in the Tropics!! Mind you it rained most of last night and this morning, so we are struggling to stay ahead of the wet. Consequently we will probably keep moving north until it stops raining!!! Having said that we have just been for a pleasant dry walk around Keppel Sands in shorts and singlet!!!
