Well we had a good time at Barringum. After the road trains and other guests departed, our truckie host and I had a fiddle under the bus and could not decide whether problem is in linkages outside the gearbox – or selectors inside, and I have no 1st gear which is opposite reverse so it is one (cross) link or selector.
Consequently we have turned right at Cunnamulla to head for the coast via St George and Warwick (about 750km). So tomorrow will get to a good mechanic south of Brisbane – via the bus importer Ray, who I just spoke to from Bollon. That's our lunch stop midway between Cunnamulla and St George. 500km to Warwick!!

Well, as we turned off the highway for the carapark, the gearstick fell over against my knee. Left with only 4th and 5th gears… so getting ready to call for help in the morning.
