Well this this morning a bit less warm – can’t really call it cool (well Maz can) and drizzly following a bit of overnight rain. Earned a few dollars from CASA then went on an afternoon river cruise. Saw a few reptiles, but at a distance could not make out whether they were Airservices management or just politicians…
One saltwater croc came at the boat, fair dinkum! But it was only about 40cm long. Saw a couple of 2m females, including the one straight across the river; then a serious sized male 3.8 – 4 metres. All sunning themselves except the aggressive little tyke.
Saw a few interesting birds from tiny little brilliant yellow finch, welcome swallows and kingfishers; plus the ubiquitous white egrets. The cattle up here are issued 3 egrets – which accompany them around. Most of the far side of the river here is very steep and very dense rainforest.
Then drank lots of beers with the neighbors.
The campground was pretty full, mainly 4WD and off road trailers.
