Made the most of the hot showers! Had a nice breakfast. Maz treated herself to a poached egg in the microwave. Filled up the water tank. Read the Hippo Birdy emails and messages – thank y’all. Headed off.
Eased on up the highway to the south Cairns dump point (for the toilet cassette – closed, locked! Why would you lock up a plastic toilet drain?
Decided to check out the cheap parking at the Showgrounds; the Cairns Show is 20-22nd July… No longer available for travellers!!! On the phone. Rang and booked (with the proviso we could fit in the last of 120 sites at Cool Waters Holiday park – 5 nights – and 5 days of not driving…
So we are 8km north west of Cairns CBD, on the edge of the rainforest with sun = heat, pool = refreshing and have 5bar NextG. Will report further…
