End of May.. working on the RHHINO

The hole where the alternator belongs
The alternator mount has been removed, the pivot re-bored and the alloy back sleeved. It now has a 3/4" bolt replacing the 14mm (~9/16") so its is a seriously bigger hole, partly due to the misalignment of the original holes!!! But still plenty of material - and it doesn't rock anymore. I feel much better.

A Murphy dictates getting the huge generator out was awkward and ONE bolt on the mount was obstructed by the air-con compressor, so all the mount bolts had to be loosened... one of which was obstructed by another bracket which required removal... So several hours and several skinned knuckles all the bits went to McBurnies for machining! Two working days later it's back and re-installed.
Bed base out - wall panels going in

Meanwhile inside the bed is out and all the underneath being cleaned of soot. Last piece of beech grain wall panelling is also being fitted (RHS wall from shower to bed-head).

When the bed end is back together the front ceiling and from LHS wall cladding is coming out to install and wire the new 24v solar panels on the turret to the battery well. They are mainly to keep the bus batteries charged.

Hatch over gearbox where the sooty exhaust gets sucked in

Time permitting we will get on with the exhaust extension... Otherwise we will be heading north late June - straight to Daintree for the month. We will have to think about when and how to get to Perth to checkout the due/new little Bridges!
