Checked out of Cool Waters about 9AM and headed to town to Obrien Autoglass. They won’t touch our cratered windscreen… not to worry I have a kit from Super Cheap Auto…
We headed north with a full tank from Wooly’s Fuel and stopped for a spell at Mossman. Arrived at Daintree about 1300. We have a great site looking down on the jetty and boat ramp – the very ramp where an American tourist fed the crocodiles not long ago!!!
We are 8 m above the river so it will be an energetic croc that gets this far. And it will have to come past a few tents first – much easier feeds.
Like it already so have extended our stay to a week (7th night free!!!) so will go somewhere else on the 9th. Good Next G – no horizontal polarized TV… Need satellite to watch the morning news! Or a computer for streaming video…
Were (easily) talked into a 3 day pass for the Crocodile Express boat tours – from the jetty; so can go as often as we like for 3 days starting tomorrow. Our host suggests the 0900 trip as it is before the tour buses arrive. Tomorrow morning is the plan. Last trip is 1600 so can check out the afternoon life as well (when the crocs have warmed up). It is of course too cold and dry for the reptiles to be active around here. Hence we are feeling more like lizards drinking as the days go by…
