The weekend is here... I am told! We have no particular plans other than to enjoy the warmth, the environment and the good company. Our neighbors to the east are off today to Mission Beach. Denise and Dave. Their home is on a peninsula near Bowen, only accessible by boat... Have their contact details and will endeavor to catch up along the way, but not for a while as we are still heading west in a week or so.
I have increased my mobile Internet allocation to download new Mac OS Mountain Lion... Long story short, when upgrading the installation advised that it could not continue due to faulty disc drive. eventually succumb and Book a call with Apple Help. Cant recover with the Disk Repair, and cant revert to the previous OS... So it is a reformat... And re-download OS Lion - 4 hours for the 4 gigabytes, on top of the 5 hours and 4.5 GB wasted on Mountain Lion, which was on the formatted disk...
So now it is Sunday morning and I have the MacBook running again, but don't have my MS Office disk so am out of luck there. It looks like it is the Apple apps only... By 10AM we have mail set up again, and Flash etc reloaded. But I am doing this on the iPad while Mountain Lion downloads - only 1.5 hours to go! Consequently this brief update, sitting in the peaceful warmth...
Tomorrow we are off to Malanda, to check on the house and collect the mail, etc
