2nd August: Taylors Beach to somewhere south

As you can see we sneaked into the parking space of an unoccupied cabin - right next to the pool and camp kitchen. A very social bunch of residents yacked and yelled til about 2000. Being mostly Queenslanders, form further south, they had the NRL on the big screen.

We settled in to watch AFL - the Swans beating the Bombers. Of course after that there was no road traffic and all quiet, fortunately.

Next stop, next beach, in towards Ingham then left (south east) to Forrest Beach. Bigger place lots to see. Even has a Pub!

Back near Ingham, near the huge sugar mill The restored steam sugar train was setting off for a joy ride. Just missed it damn! Still in CSR livery.

Down the highway the Frosty Mango seemed like a good place for morning tea. We bought a mango waffle cone ice-cream; one of many many tropical fruit flavours - and made our own coffees.

Balgal Beach
Balgal Beach
Next Balgal Beach - only about 14 spots in the camp area; all very full and settled in... we will head for Toomulla Beach where we stopped a night, I guess, three years ago.

Toomulla Beach

Toomula local
Its only midday so we can actually get in. Apparently a 'ranger' comes around and records regos, and moves people on after two days - or issues fines I suppose...

Not much of a beach - one has to head north an cross the tidal estuary to the ocean side - avoiding mangroves and crocodiles...

We will probably stay the weekend; move on Monday.

Decisions, decisions!!!
