Well last night it serious pi55ed down. 42 mm 9AM yesterday to 9AM today! And is was very heavy overnight, then drizzly til about 3PM. Seems to have moved on for now so tomorrow we will continue to explore the coast heading south.Meanwhile a trip to town - we prowled around Mackay CBD after shopping so by 1230 it was all closed....
So plan A for tomorrow is: Hay Point, Grasstree Beach, Campwin Beach, Armstrong Beach, Cape Palmerston, Camila Beach, Claireview Beach. There is a bit of dirt road to some, so we will be cautious after the rain!
It's only 225km... we will see how we go. NO free camps along here... so it will be roadside or a CP... To stop for a night we only have to set the park brake and take the key out of the ignition. Key in the ignition = in charge of the vehicle on public road or ground!!!
