No fun at all, but RHHINO is fine with it!
Well the rain has finally caught up to us - as forecast, with a couple of seriously wet days expected. We were woken up about 3AM with the pitter-patter on the roof. When it was light at about 0630 we headed off in the rain. We were going to Seaforth via Mt Ossa but it is 10km of unknown dirt road with 3-4 hours of rain on it... so we gave it a miss. We could back track from the other end of the planned diversion, but no, not today, I hate backtracking! It is pissing down. I have checked the grip under brakes - all good.

What we planned
|
Where we went...
We will head down towards Mackay and start at the northern beaches, in fact as north as we can go which is Shoal Point next to Sand Bay and looking out at Brampton Island amongst others. So it is breakfast time at the end of the road (The Esplanade) at Shoal Point.

Waiting it out after breakfast at Shoal Point
We will pause around here for a couple of days, Sunday should be better. Look for a site at Buccasia or Blacks Beach Caravan Parks. Mains eventually required, not solar, in this gloom.
No luck, no sites but we can get in where we stayed a night on the way up, the BIG4 Marine Tourist Park near the harbour. Might have to join BIG4 for discounts now many accept pets!
