We are on the road again. Thought about stopping at Burke and Wills Roadhouse halfway between Normanton and Cloncurry, but decided on just topping up fuel and a drink. The roadhouse is at the intersection of the Burke Dev Road and the Wills Dev Road, which incongruously goes to Burketown... Not worth a photo at the fuelstop - completely staffed, by foreign workers (backpackers) as usual!
Another 200KM to Cloncurry is enough for me for the day. It's another 125KM to Mt Isa. Plenty of vacancies in the early after noon so we settle in. Cloncurry has a Woolies, yay, but it closes at 5PM - it's Saturday - and closed on Sunday, so it's off to the shops. Since they are about to close for a day and a half the perishables are discounted. We score a cooked chook for $5. Dinner taken care of.
