The ground generally is solid limestone covered in shell.

Can't get a peg into the ground without drilling a hole first. The CP Office loans out drills! But I guess that explains why this peninsula exists - survives. The whole CP is also covered in shell and is blindingly white and bright.
The rest of the day has been leisurely. A bit of reading and a bit of planning. Not the least of which is shouting ourselves a dinner out. The CP manager recommends the Old Pearler Restaurant - for seafood. That got Maz immediately, of course. We are eating more fish than anything, these days.
The Old Pearler was built in the 1970's from shell block from Hamelin Area. Slabs cut out like ice blocks for igloos. The material naturally formed of tiny shells cemented together with crushed shell. It is quite beautiful. Very quiet inside - and small. And apparently the block provides very good insulation.Oh and the feed of local Whiting for me and Red Emperor for Maz was superb (and a bit expensive...)
