6 Mar 17 - Frankston to Blind Bight

We have called it a day at 1PM and 100km down the road... We, as in I, decided to cheat and skip Cape Schank and Flinders, and we headed straight down to Balnarring. Then to Somers, Stony Point and Hastings.

With a quick detour to Tyabb Airfield...

Have not been to Balnarring for many years, still a nice beach...

Stony Point is the end of the line, train line that is, and ferries to French Island. Lots of fishing happening too!

Hastings, the big smoke on the Western side of Western Port Bay, big yacht club and town...

Tyabb is then only a short detour. Have not been there for years, I think decades... Quiet today. The stripped nose of a Kittyhawk was visible in THE hangar, and we stopped a minute on the other side at Peninsula Air Services - whose Victas I flew (from Moorabbin) after the RAAF took the Macchis away from me...

Had heard somewhere that Blight Bight was a pretty place so we turned in there. The boat ramp carpark beside it makes a good stop. Tide is out and it's mud and mangroves. Boat ramp only usable at near hight tide by the looks.

We might stop and have a leisurely afternoon. Batteries, gas and water full, toilet empty...
