10 Mar 17 - Cape Paterson to Seaspray

Would not have minded a second night at Cape Paterson... until the invasion of young families in the afternoon. We were soon surrounded by families with lots of kids, secondary school camping tours - surrounded! But we survived, and even slept in!

On the road about 0900 and headed for Inverloch. My cousin Stan's daughter Sharon manages the Pharmacy so we had undertaken to catch up (at Max's party). After several circuits of Inverloch shops we found a parking spot not far away. Shaz has Fridays off! Did get fuel!

Next stop through Tarwin, is Venus Bay. I think I have been there once before? Anyway, it is beautiful, spectacular especially the beach...

Intending to check out Walkerville, but headed for Walkerville SOUTH, stopped when we got to poor dirt road - should have been looking for Walkerville North... Thought about Sandy Point, but not today! So we snuck across the Wilsons Prom roads to Foster. Picked one of the half dozen 'bakeries' for a coffee - and quiche and sausage roll.

So we are now east of Wilsons Prom, next place Welshpool, did not go to the Port. So on to Port Albert, Gippsland's oldest port (1871).

What a gorgeous place and harbour. Gorgeous!

Cross country now through Tarradale to Woodside and the South Gippland Highway, then from Stradbroke to Seaspray and a more respectable 245km for the day over six hours, leisurely driving at 85kph - unless holding up traffic - then 95-100kph.

Seaspray CP for two nights for $115, which makes it the most expensive place we have stayed!
