29th July: Bramston to somewhere south...

Still raining, still wet... Have finished packing up. The awning ends up with few leaves rolled in. They will blow off next time... We are heading for Kurrimine Beach, but via Flying Fish Point only about 45km.

What a pretty place is FFP. Stop and buy a coffee. Sit and look around. The Caravan Park looks tight and tiny. Might give it a try... another time. We continue... By now the day is beautiful, sunny, bit of breeze, great!

Flying Fish Point

Mourilyan Harbour
Through Innisfail then out towards Etty Bay, but been there before, and its a National Park - no dogs, and turning around will be a problem. So we will go out to Mourilyan Harbour for a look. It is the Innisfail Port mainly for sugar and molasses although the Sugar Mill was destroyed by cyclone Larry in March 2006. There is new building happening. No idea what or why. Reckon one could stop a night out here - away from the ubiquitous QLD 'No Camping' sign.

Next detour will be to Cowley Beach, again because it's there - and we haven't been. Another pretty place!!! Check out the  Caravan Park on spec'; they have a beach front site available for a few days. We will take it! $31 less seniors discount $29ish with power etc Kurrimine will wait...
